Award of Contract and Groundbreaking Ceremony of Hyway Group’s New Project in Angola Held in Luanda

   On July 10, 2017, the award of contract and groundbreaking ceremony regarding Luanda New International Airport By-line Project and Luanda Multi-functional Station Project jointly contracted by China Hyway Group Limited and Tianjin Oubaiwei Corp. Ltd. were held respectively at Luanda KAPALANGA railway station and NAIL.

   Augusto da Silva Tomás, Angola Transport Minister, Higino Carneiro, Governor of Luanda, Júlio Joaquim, Angola Academy of Railway Sciences, Liu Jianzhong, Director of Bank of China Luanda Branch, Liu Daiwen, Chairman of China Hyway Group Limited, Wei Ruihai, Vice President of China Hyway Group Limited, Fang Changlu, Deputy General Manager of Zhong An Lei Jun Construction Co., Ltd., etc. attended the award of contract and groundbreaking ceremony.  Several news media from Angola and China made interview on site.

   China Hyway Group Limited and Tianjin Oubaiwei Corp. Ltd. as the general contractor of the two projects make investigation and design and organized construction independently. The scope of work includes the procurement and installation of equipment regarding substructure, bridge and culvert, rail, communication, signal, power, station and mechanical and electrical. The NAIL By-line connects BAIA station and NAIL and is 15km long including 7.5km of double-track railway expanded and 7.5km of double-track railway construction; this project also includes the construction of new international airport station and two bridges. The five multi-functional station project is a key traffic hub project connecting Bungo and NAIL. Each station, upon completion, will become a comprehensively center junction station integrating business, parking lot, bus station and taxiing waiting area. The employer of the two projects are Angola’s Ministry of Transport; the projects are funded by the buyer credit provided by Bank of China to Angola.

   Augusto da Silva Tomás, Angola’s Transport Minister, said that the two projects, upon completion, will improve the capital’s capacity in passenger and cargo carriage, solve existing traffic problems fundamentally, make rail traffic more convenient and advance Luanda’s economic development actively.
